MEASURMENT

HOT TO DETERMINE THE SHOE SIZE

  1. The best and the easiest way is to check the shoes and boots you already have. Probably you will find that you do not have just one size. But this allow you to determinate the most probably size you have. Just keep in mind that sport shoes usually are longer that normal. Please do not ask …”I have the brand XYZ boots in size XX, do the model No. X will fit me?” – That would be great option but I do not know all brand sizing.
  2. Find the boots with the rounded toe box and check the insole length.
  3. If you are not sure – I understand that buying boots online without fitting them first is a bit risky, just follow the steps to make the right measurement.

There are a handful of ways to find your foot measurement. You can get it done professionally by a podiatrist, use a Brannock device at a store or even measure from home.

When measuring your shoe size at home, you’ll need the following items:

  • Two pieces of paper larger than your foot
  • Tape
  • Writing utensil
  • Ruler

Before taking your measurement, put on the socks you plan on wearing with your shoes. It’s also recommended to wait until the end of the day when your foot is at its widest point.

FIRST METHOD “insole length” or imprint.

  1. Place a sheet of paper on the floor.
  2. Make your a bit foot wet.
  3. Put your foot on the sheet of paper. Stand up straight and balanced on both of your feet.
  4. Make a mark behind your heel (mark the point where heel touch the papier) and another in front of your longest toe (keep the pen straight – the whole length of the foot  will be longer than the wet mark as the fingers do not touch the ground with full length). If one of your feet is larger than the other, use the longer foot to measure your size.
  5. Measure the distance between the two lines in inches or centimetre

Example: My foot has 27,3 cm, but I need some extra space for fingers – like 12 – 15 mm. So the shoe insole should have 285 – 287 mm, which makes the 43 EU size perfect for me. This is the insole length.

STEP 1  – mark the foot on a papier

STEP 2 – do it correctly

STEP 3 – measure the distance

SECOND METHOD “wall length”

  1. Place a sheet of paper on the floor.
  2. Put your foot on the sheet of paper. Stand up straight and balanced on both of your feet. Holding your pen vertically (or ask someone to help you), put a dot where your heel ends and where your longest toe ends.
  3. Measure the distance between the two lines in inches or centimetre

Example: My foot has 28,3 cm, but I need some extra space for fingers – like min. 3-5 mm. So the shoe insole should have 285 – 287 mm, which makes the 43 EU size perfect for me. This is the insole length.
